Mission
The mission of the Early Care and Education Department is to plan, fund, evaluate and provide technical assistance for successful implementation of a comprehensive quality early care and education delivery system in Palm Beach County.

School readiness begins long before a child reaches kindergarten.
That’s why we in the Early Care and Education division focus our attention on the whole child – his or her physical well-being, motor, social and emotional development, as well as academic knowledge. One of the best ways to ensure children are ready for school is to ensure all children have access to quality early care and education. So what’s quality? A safe physical environment; highly trained teachers; developmentally appropriate, stimulating curriculum; positive interaction between teacher and child; language development; and parental engagement.
