Improve Immediate Birth Outcomes
The mission of the Healthy Beginnings Division of CSC is to increase positive birth and developmental outcomes for infants and young children in Palm Beach County. Its goal is to lower the rates of pre-term (before 37 weeks of pregnancy) and low birth weight (under 5 pounds, 8 ounces) deliveries by ensuring women and their families receive care before, during and after pregnancy.
Promote Long-term Prevention
The services, provided through a network of organizations, also focus on longer-term consequences that spring from poor birth outcomes – such as child abuse and neglect, developmental problems and poor school performance.
