Program Offered:
Mentoring Hearts is a free program-serving people of all faiths, which match caring adults with hurting children. These children have lost a parent or guardian and need a positive role model in their lives. Our program offers continuous training and ongoing support monitoring by our staff to ensure a caring and meaningful experience.

Population Served:
Youth served are (ages 4-18) who have loss a parent or guardian to death as a result of tragedy or through crime. Service area includes all of Palm Beach County.

Mentor Responsibilities:
Volunteers at least 18 years of age. They commit to a minimum of one hour per week for one year, subject to background screening. They will receive 8 hours of training and 3 hours of program orientation. The meetings with their mentee can be flexible and can include homework help, mutually chosen activities, learning new hobbies, and sharing life experiences. This type of mentoring involves forming a relationship one on one with a child after school hours or on the weekends. Mentors and mentees schedule their time together weekly with the approval of the child’s parent or guardian.

Time Commitment:
Mentors are required to make a one-hour per week commitment for one year or more.
