Parents Want The Best Possible Care for Their Children

All parents want their children to be able to participate in after-school programs that provide them with a safe, positive environment where they are exposed to a variety of activities, both passive and active. For this reason, CSC is working with Prime Time Palm Beach County to create and expand a Quality Improvement System that sets standards. Programs that are working toward positive outcomes for youth should exhibit the following standards:

Following are some of the ingredients of a quality after-school program.

• Administration, program organization, procedures and policies provide a solid framework for the after-school program.
• The program has supportive ongoing relationships between and among students and staff.
• There is a positive and inclusive environment for students.
• The program offers youth development and challenging learning experiences.
• The program offers outreach to and activities for families.
