A two-year evaluation study has been conducted for Palm Beach County’s Quality Improvement System (QIS) for both 2007-08 and 2008-09 to ascertain the status of QIS with the focus on process, outcome and impact evaluation, so that empirical data are available for celebrating the achievements and planning the continuous improvement of QIS.

The Palm Beach County Family Study - Supporting Low-Income Parents of Young Children

For more than a decade, Florida’s Palm Beach County has been building an infrastructure of prevention and early intervention services to promote and support the healthy development and school readiness of children from birth to age 8. The county began this effort with a set of programs focused on serving families in four targeted geographic areas that have high levels of risk for poverty, teen pregnancy, crime, and child maltreatment.

Expediting Permanency: Legal Representation for Foster Children in Palm Beach County

This report describes the evaluation of the Foster Children's Project (FCP) of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Florida. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the impact of FCP on the nature and timing of children's permanency outcomes and juvenile court milestones. The study also identifies and describes the program elements or practices that serve to define FCP, and explores the broader impact that FCP has had on the child protective service system in Palm Beach County.

Implementation Study of the Comprehensive Services Program of Palm Beach County, Florida

The Comprehensive Services Program of Palm Beach County, Florida, was an ambitious and innovative effort to improve the school readiness of low-income children in Palm Beach County by identifying needs early and providing early intervention services to support physical, cognitive, and emotional health and development. Services were delivered to preschool children (ages 0-5) enrolled in accredited child care facilities. The core component of the program was identifying and facilitating referrals to needed professional services by engaging with families and service providers.

An Evaluation of the Palm Beach County Children's Behavioral Health Initiative

These reports share the findings from a 4-year implementation and 3-year outcome evaluation of the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) in Palm Beach County, Fla., an effort providing schools with behavioral health professionals to identify social and emotional problems in young children and offer referral and follow-up services. Implementation data indicate that the CBHI program continued to be successfully implemented in the 2003-2004 school year.
