The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) is a unique tool to educate everyone, from frontline workers to policy makers, about the day to day realities of life with a shortage of money and an abundance of stress. This experience is a hands-on poverty simulation that allows participants to role play through various scenarios based on real-life examples. By encountering barriers and being forced to make tough decisions, participants gain a greater awareness of the daily realities for many low to moderate income families in our community.
This powerful experience will inform and enlighten participants’ understanding of poverty, inspiring them to take action and help those who need it most. In addition, participants discuss how they can become change agents to impact our community.
