A 2-day Training Workshop for professionals addressing the emotional and psychological issues women face during pregnancy.
About the Training Program:
Promoting Maternal Mental Health During Pregnancy addresses the importance of a pregnant woman’s psychological well-being and its impact on the relationship with her newborn. The program includes the normal, typical course of pregnancy, high-risk pregnancies, domestic violence, pregnant women with unresolved grief or loss, and those women experiencing depression or other mental health disruptions. Through the Promoting Maternal Mental Health During Pregnancy, participants will understand the unique challenges and tasks women face during pregnancy; learn strategies and interventions that assist the pregnant woman in meeting these challenges and tasks; recognize the value of assessment for risk during pregnancy and the selection of interventions based on the assessment; and develop a plan to implement the knowledge and interventions in their own caseload and to share the training with their staff and co-workers.
