ROOTS Cultural Festival Celebrates 30th Year
August 2, 2007: The ROOTS Cultural Festival celebrates its 30th year with a variety of events and activities throughout Delray Beach from August 3 - 12, 2007.  The city's African American community invites everyone to join in the festivities to commemorate their history and heritage which played a significant role in the growth of Delray Beach.  The ROOTS Festival welcomes all neighborhoods and the wider community to participate in this annual event.  The complete schedule is listed below and promises to entertain all.

August 3rd - 5th - Adult Basketball Tournament
Pompey Park Community Center (1101 NW 2nd St)
Friday, August 3rd - 6:00 pm, Saturday & Sunday, August 4th and 5th - 9:00 am
Admission:  Adults $7, Children 6-12 years old $5, 5 years and younger free

August 10th - Parade and Festival Kickoff
6:30 pm at Pompey Park Community Center (1101 NW 2nd St), proceeds to Old School Square (51 N Swinton Ave)
Admission to Festival Kickoff:  $5

August 11th - Prayer Breakfast
8:00 am at Pompey Park Community Center (1101 NW 2nd St)
Cost:  $10 per person

August 11th - Thirtieth Celebration Day
12:00 pm at Old School Square (51 N Swinton Ave)
Admission:  $5

August 12th - Gospel on the Square
12:00 pm at Old School Square (51 N Swinton Ave)
Admission:  $5
