GREAT GROWN-UP SPELLING BEE
Word among the colony is that we’re moving the Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee to a new hive. Yup, that’s true. The Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee, presented by The Palm Beach Post, will take place at the Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace on Thursday, September 27 at 6 p.m. Sweet, huh? And, if you were paying close attention, you’ll notice the Bee also moves to a new day and time that will allow more people a chance to see what all the buzz has been about the past 15 years.
We hope that you will participate in the summer’s most fun event that benefits the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition and its many programs serving the community from Boca Raton to Jupiter and west to Belle Glade. The cost for a team of three is $1,000 and includes a table for 8 (your team of three and five additional guests), one mulligan that may be used to redeem one incorrect spelling, and food and beverages. A cash bar will also be available.
All participating teams will be recognized via news releases, in four pre-event ads in The Palm Beach Post, the event program and the Literacy Coalition’s newsletter that is mailed to 5,200 businesses, supporters and clients in Palm Beach County.
Alphabet sponsorships are also available and businesses may purchase a letter of the alphabet for $300. Or, if you want to purchase the whole lowercase alphabet, it’s a steal at $5,000.
In Palm Beach County, close to one-quarter of the adult population functions at the lowest level of literacy, meaning that they have difficulty filling out a job application, reading road signs, and reading the dosage amount on a prescription bottle. Your support of the Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee will help provide a lifetime of literacy opportunities for thousands in our community.
See you at the Great Grown-Up Spelling Be
