His "CORE Continuum of Nonprofit Collaboration" framework guides nonprofit leaders engineering a variety organizational and mergers. He has published a number of books on the topics of nonprofit alliances, nonprofit entrepreneurship, and "strategic positioning" as an alternative to traditional strategic planning. He is a contributing editor for the Nonprofit Times, for which he writes a monthly column.
