Every elementary school student in Palm Beach County getting a free book for summer

Every child in elementary school in Palm Beach County will receive a free book this month courtesy of the “Happily Ever After Begins with Reading” campaign of Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County. The book distribution is designed to encourage summer reading, with students receiving some of the most popular titles in children’s literature today. Since 2013, Children’s Services Council has provided more than 600,000 books to Palm Beach County elementary school students.

To highlight the importance of summer reading, Children’s Services Council will have a special event on Wednesday, May 17, featuring an appearance from Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Date/time: Wednesday, May 17, at 10 a.m.

Location: Washington Elementary School, 1709 W. 30th St., Riviera Beach

Clifford will be joined by Children’s Services Council CEO Lisa Williams-Taylor as well as officials from the Palm Beach County School District and the Riviera Beach area.
