Palm Beach County Zip Code Report September 2017
As part of its Community Needs Assessment 2017, Children’s Services Council updated a report that looked at data at the zip code level. The report compares a range of data across zip codes in Palm Beach County. Indicators were selected based primarily on the priority areas that are CSC’s focus –increasing healthy births, reducing child abuse and neglect, increasing the number of children entering school eager and ready to learn, and ensuring children have access to quality afterschool programs. Zip codes were noted if they scored among the most challenged on a particular indicator and the information was then charted across all the indicators examined. Several zip codes emerged as areas facing numerous challenges and received poor ratings across multiple indicators. Maps were also created that display a range of information for each zip code, such as the level of poverty by census tracts, location of childcare centers, schools and other community resources.
From previous versions of this report, CSC has found that the data obtained is valuable and helpful for other organizations and agencies as they target programs and plan for community actions.
