Grassroots nonprofits often have big ideas, but little money. For their dreams to take flight, they need a financial boost to get them off the ground.
That’s why Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County is proud to announce it is again offering grants to nonprofits as part of its Great Ideas Initiative. Since 2016, the Great Ideas Initiative has provided a total of more than $1.9 million to 66 local nonprofits with the vision, passion and talent to try something new to help Palm Beach County’s children and families.
“Whether it is creating a neighborhood robotics program or helping parents of children with Down syndrome get them ready to enter school, we recognize that grassroots groups often are the first ones to recognize and respond to our communities’ needs,” said Council CEO Lisa Williams-Taylor. “It’s been inspiring to see the creativity and drive of the groups that have received funding through the Great Ideas Initiative.”
One-time grants of up to $30,000 (plus 15% to cover administrative costs if applicable) are available to nonprofits in business for at least two consecutive years with operating budgets of less than $1 million. Funding may be used to underwrite the costs associated with: essential services, supplies/equipment, community outreach/engagement and organizational capacity.
Groups must show how their great ideas would enhance the lives of Palm Beach County’s children (prenatal-age 18) and their families.
For the Great Ideas Initiative guidelines and application, go to: https://www.cscpbc.org/greatideas.
Nonprofits interested in applying this year have until 2 p.m., July, 10, 2019, to submit an online application.
