CSC receives highest honor for workplace mental health

Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County has been awarded the 2023 Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA).

The Bell Seal is a workplace mental health certification that recognizes employers who strive to create mentally healthy workplaces for their employees. MHA, founded in 1909, is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the overall mental health of all.

Last year, CSC received a Gold Bell Seal. Some of the highlights that contributed to this year’s Platinum award include:

  • A Wellness Committee, including a Wellness Calendar of Events
  • Monthly pre-recorded “Wise & Well” seminars and other holistic wellness programs
  • Monthly reminders about CSC’s Employee Assistance Program
  • Mental health-related trainings for employees
  • Quarterly Celebrate Success meetings where leadership acknowledges staff accomplishments
  • Dignity trainings to improve organizational culture

Lisa Williams-Taylor, the Council’s CEO, noted what an honor it is to be recognized with the Platinum Bell Seal, stressing that CSC is deeply committed to honoring employees’ dignity.

“This shows up in many ways, such as celebrating staff successes, promoting work-life balance, recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusion, and supporting programs that encourage mental wellness,” Williams-Taylor said. “Above all, Children’s Services Council empowers each staff member to be their own mental health advocate.”
