How We Partner with Families

Direct Services

Children’s Services Council funds nearly 60 programs that provide direct services to families through our System of Care model. These programs include services for pregnant women, families with infants and children under 6, afterschool and summer programs for school-age children, and mentoring and other programs for teens.

Community Initiatives

We also fund initiatives that provide an array of services and supports to all Palm Beach County families.

  • Drowning Prevention
The Council partners with Palm Beach County to support drowning prevention efforts in the community. Specifically, CSC funds swim lesson vouchers and water safety education through the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County. To learn more about Drowning Prevention, click here.
  • Fetal and Infant Mortality
The community-based group, administered by the Florida Institute for Health Innovation, reviews individual cases of fetal and infant death to understand causes, inform the community and help raise awareness to prevent future deaths. To learn more about Palm Beach County’s Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR), click here.
  • Food Insecurity
To ensure all families have access to healthy food, the Council supports the Palm Beach County Food Bank, which partners with food pantries and other community groups to ensure no child goes hungry. To learn more about The Food Bank, click here.
  • Legal Advocacy
The Council funds four programs through the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County that advocate for children’s well-being: the Relative Caregiver Project, which provides legal and social support to families caring for relative children; the Juvenile Advocacy and Foster Children’s projects, which advocate for children in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems; and the Education Advocacy Project, which provide advocacy and legal services to overcome barriers to public education for school-age children. • Mentoring
Through United Way of Palm Beach County, the Council funds the Mentoring Initiative, which provides ongoing mentoring program oversight, support and technical assistance to in-county mentoring programs and administration of the Council’s mentoring funds. To learn more about mentoring, click here.
  • Safety/Injury Prevention
The Council funds Safe Kids Palm Beach County, which offers a variety of child safety programming and public awareness events throughout the county to inform caregivers on how to protect children from unintended injuries. Safety messages focus on four areas: in and around water, vehicles, home and community. For more about safety initiatives, click here.
