Healthy, Safe, Strong Stories feature unsung heroes and the good work of Palm Beach County groups helping families

A Palm Beach County nurse determined to reach isolated pregnant women during the COVID-19 crisis.

A “Thank You” note from a struggling family in the Glades area who received an unexpected gift card.

A local child safety advocate who took the concept of working from home to a whole new level.

These are just some of the stories now featured on the refreshed Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County website. The stories highlight the vital work of local programs and services for children, families and pregnant women funded by Children’s Services Council.

While the pandemic has changed the way many of programs interact with clients, Children’s Services Council and its providers have been unwavering in their mission to keep Palm Beach County’s children healthy, safe and strong. The new series of stories — called Healthy, Safe, Strong Stories — feature such CSC-funded programs as the Palm Beach County Food Bank, Safe Kids Palm Beach County and Nurse-Family Partnership.

Beyond supporting its programs, Children’s Services Council has been finding new ways to meet the changing needs of our community. CSC has funded child care scholarships for first responders and essential workers, while also helping child care providers stay in business. CSC has worked to ensure more than 1,000 families have internet connectivity so their children can be online for school. And CSC has allocated an additional $1 million to more than 50 organizations offering direct services to children and families during the last six months.
