CSC's Palm Beach County 2023 Zip Code Report

As part of its Community Assessments, Children’s Service Council (CSC) annually updates a zip code report that examines 11 indicators in Palm Beach County. The indicators are primarily based on CSC’s focus areas – increasing healthy births, reducing child abuse and neglect, and increasing the number of children ready for school. CSC continues to offer this report to strengthen community planning and action. The rise in drownings of children with autism in Florida

At least 63 children with autism have drowned in Florida since 2021 with 10 of those drownings happening in Palm Beach County, according to a report by Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County. The study- believed to be the largest of its kind in the United States related to autism and drownings- identified 109 drownings in Florida involving children with autism since 2012. Child First Evaluation Final Report Executive Summary

This report examines the extent to which Child First reduces child maltreatment, and improves child and parent outcomes, compared to other clinical programs as well as a comparison group. The report was conducted by the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW II). Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County adopted this program to reduce child maltreatment, improve child and parent outcomes, and prevent families from entering child protective services.

Child First Safety Brief

This brief discusses findings relevant to the safety of children who participated in the Child First program. Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County adopted this program to reduce child maltreatment, improve child and parent outcomes, and prevent families from entering child protective services. An evaluation study found that children who participate in Child First were less likely to be reported to the state’s child protective services than comparison children.
