Council Update: Nearly 4,300 PBC children enjoyed camp last summer thanks to CSC funding

About 76 percent of the more than 6,900 applications received were awarded scholarships – and 92 percent of those awarded were used.

Council Update: Children with disabilities benefit from unique fund

More than $132,000 invested by CSC provided children who have cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism, developmental delays and rare genetic disorders with such durable equipment as wheelchairs, strollers, orthotics, communication devices and adaptive tricycles.

The team’s workshop focused on CSC’s experience in implementing a broad community engagement effort to support early care and education strategic planning.

In the upcoming fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, the Council will fund programs that support its mission, so the community’s children are born healthy, grow up with safe and nurturing families, and are ready to learn when they enter school.

In total, CSC has invested more than $5.1 million in 150-plus local nonprofits with operating budgets of less than $1 million.

Council Update: Vast majority of CSC-funded programs high-performing

Staff assessed programs based on specific targets and measures, with some programs evaluated on direct child/family outcomes and others evaluated on whether they met strategic objectives. 

Council Update: Council invests additional $500,000 in mentoring to reduce waitlist

The funding will expand youth mentoring services, administered by United Way of Palm Beach County, allowing for recruitment and training of 200 new mentors, thereby reducing the current waitlist. 

Council Update: Summer camp scholarships benefit PBC youth, families

CSC provided about 81 percent of the total $5.02 million invested in scholarships.
